Vedat earned his bachelor’s degree in Music Education in 1990 from Marmara University with a major in vocal (opera) and minor in cello. The Turkish Government certified him as a teacher in 1990. He completed his Master’s Degree in Music Education at Inonu University and worked as an assistant professor in that same university in-between 1990 and 1993. He trained voices, assisted the choir conductor, taught, and played cello in the university’s orchestras. He played cello in a quartet while teaching university students.

 

He moved to the US in 1993 with his wife to earn a higher education and has been working in different companies since. He is currently working at Camco Manufacturing Inc. in the Quality Assurance group.

 

Vedat holds a CAP II certificate and participates in High Performance coaching clinics. He holds a Carolina Region Provisional II official certificate. He works in USA Volleyball, AAU and JVA tournaments as an official. He started attending and volunteering for Sportsplex volleyball clinics in 2009, volunteered two years for the Grimsley High School volleyball team before becoming the head coach. He volunteered one year to help Saint Pius X Middle school, and worked with Greensboro Panthers as a head coach for two years.  He also works at the USA and Carolina Region HP clinics and tryouts. Vedat worked with different age groups at Piedmont Volleyball Club from 2009 through 2017. Currently he is pursuing his national level referee certificate and traveling for work overseas.

 

Vedat was born in 1967 in Turkey, married to Saide since 1990, and has one daughter Melisa who played volleyball at Piedmont VBC as a setter as well and attending Wake Forest University to become an upcoming Wake Forest Baptist Medical School student in 2019.
